The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
